1. Who we are and how to reach us

The service's contact email is hello@startups.earth. The operator's legal name and address are still to be added to this page before the public launch.

2. Data we use

• To prepare and process a bid: a name, your email if you give one (optional, only to notify you), your profile or website, the flag you represent (a country, the EU or the UN), the selected state, the amount and checkout reference data.
• On the public leaderboard: the link you promote (website, SaaS, app) with the page's public title, which we fetch from the page itself, or your social media handle, the flag you represent, the state, the amount and the date of purchase. Your name and email are never published.
• When you view the map: your browser requests the map style and tiles from OpenFreeMap. As with any web connection, the provider may receive your IP address and the map area requested.
• To show images: site icons are fetched by our server from the linked domain; X profile pictures may be requested from Unavatar. Those services receive the image request.

3. Why we use it

We use your data to process the payment and show the listing you asked for; public display is based on your agreement when you bid. We also use purchase data to handle issues, prevent fraud and meet any accounting or legal obligations that apply.

4. Services involved

Dodo Payments runs the checkout. The contact and order details needed to take payment are sent to that provider; full card details are entered on its payment page and this application never receives them. OpenFreeMap serves the map. Unavatar and the domains of linked profiles may serve profile images. When you open a public link, you go to the corresponding outside service.

5. How long we keep data

A listing stays on the leaderboard while it's published on the board. Order and payment data may be kept for as long as needed to handle the purchase, respond to claims, protect the service and meet legal obligations. The exact period depends on those obligations and on the payment provider.

6. Your choices and rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to its use, and withdraw your agreement to publication by emailing hello@startups.earth. Withdrawing doesn't affect what was done before we received it, nor data we must keep by law. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

7. Changes to this page

We'll update this page if the data we use, our providers or the way the game works change. The date at the top shows the last review.
